Super Smash! (Baby Birthday)

One of my all time favorites, I know I say this about many photoshoots, but this one is just so much fun. So many different exciting layers to it. A baby's first Birthday is a HUGE milestone! It's the foundation of all the future Birthday pictures to come! There is nothing better than watching a baby's reaction to their very first time being allowed to dive into a big, entire dessert. With an intentional focus on the first look/touch of the cake, first taste, handfuls of cake or dainty cake "boops", sticky toes and thighs full of frosting, these images are guaranteed to make you smile. Some babies don't like getting messy. There is never any pressure for your baby to smash or destroy their cake- but if they do want to they are more than welcome to make as big of a mess as they please! I will only encourage you to give your baby a taste if they aren't interested. At this age, some baby's "Stranger Danger" senses are arising, and they may be very shy and even cry. This is totally okay and taking comfort breaks and having parents near by is very important to me. This is not a rushing session and is never booked back to back with another shoot to ensure that we have plenty of time to go around your baby's mood! I do highly encourage theses sessions being done in the morning or after a nice nap earlier in their day, though! :)


The process:

You and I will first have a phone interview, once you message me to inquire. We will go over what theme you have in mind colors, props, what time frame you are looking to book and I can take your cake order details at that time as well. A $100 deposit is required to book your session date and these sessions require at least 3 weeks notice.


This session is named after my favorite video game growing up! This session includes 3 parts.

  1. Birthday outfit photos
  2. Cake Smash in Smash Outfit (Cake included)
  3. Splash

This is a fast paced session with changing of baby multiple times and finishing with your frosting covered baby into a warm tub with bubbles from a gentle baby body wash (feel free to bring your own also) Bubbles are blown and splashes are more than welcome! Getting your baby happy, clean and comfortable for their ride home is the ultimate goal.
